Obituary For Marilyn A. Moriarty

Obituary of Marilyn A. Moriarty Marilyn A. Moriarty, 94, of Danvers, formerly of Peabody, passed away early Easter morning, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a brief illness. She was the wife of the late David M. Ryan and the late Daniel L. Moriarty. Marilyn was born in Lynn, MA, on February 28, 1927, daughter of the late Francis and Agnes (Hartnett) Whelan, and sister of the late James F. Whelan of Peabody. She was raised and educated in Lynn graduating from St. Mary’s High School class of 1944. Prior to her retirement, she had worked as a cafeteria worker for Peabody Public Schools. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing, was a member of Bass Rocks Golf Club in Gloucester. She was also an active member of St. Ann’s Church in Peabody, where she was also a member of the Women’s Sodality. She also enjoyed taking trips to various destinations such as Ireland, London, and visiting her son, Thomas and his family, in Africa. She is survived by her children, Constance Ahern of Danvers, David Ryan of Lynn, Thomas Ryan of Lusaka, Africa; her 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Services for Marilyn will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
