Mary (Sclavounos) Andreadakis, 89. of Sandwich and formerly of Peabody, died peacefully on September 3, 2022, at the Beth Israel Hospital in Plymouth, MA with her family by her side. She was the devoted wife of Steve Andreadakis with whom they celebrated their 69th Wedding Anniversary on August 23. She was born in Peabody on January 31, 1933, the daughter of the late Leonidas and Calliope (Vorrias) Sclavounos and was raised in Peabody and later resided in No. Andover, Newport Richey, Florida, and Greece before moving to Sandwich. Mary had been a bookkeeper and worked at the Commonwealth of MA unemployment office in Salem prior to her retirement. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, playing cards with friends and family and loved to travel with her husband. She also was “Yia-Yia” to her4 precious grandchildren and a great grandchild. She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Steve of Sandwich, a son and daughter-in-law, George and Elena Andreadakis of Georgetown, MA and Berkeley, CA, two daughters and a son-in-law, Janice and Chuck Darzenta of Sandwich, MA, and Cally Beresford of No. Andover, her four grandchildren, Alexandra and Nicholas Darzenta and Christianna and Alec Beresford and a great grandson, Nicholas Darzenta and many nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022, from 10:00 until 11:00 AM at St Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5 Paleologos St. Peabody with Services there at 11:00 AM.
