Obituary For Mary Joan Bardwell
Mary Joan (Wesson) Bardwell, 97, of Brooksby Village, Peabody, passed away on Monday, August 9, 2021, at Brooksby Village in Peabody. She was the beloved wife of the late Conrad M. Bardwell.
Mrs. Bardwell was born in Aurora, IL., on February 4, 1924, daughter of the late Eugene Glenn and Ellen Evelyn (Washbish) Wesson. She was raised in Lincoln Nebraska and Hanibal, MO., and received her diploma from Hannibal High School, in 1941. After high school, she continued her education and earned her bachelor's degree from Aurora University in 1944. Mary resided in Burlington for 22 years before moving as a “pioneer” to Brooksby Village, Peabody in 2000.
Mrs Bardwell co-hosted a cooking show on Brooksby Villages cable access channel, and performed a lip-sync dance number on the same channel. She enjoyed fitness and exercise and worked out more than anyone else on the Brooksby fitness “wall of fame.” She was a loving wife, mother, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, Conrad Michael Bardwell of Burlington, Glenn Robert Bardwell of Woburn, and David Lawrence Bardwell of Salem.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be celebrated at Brooksby Village Chapel, 100 Brooksby Village Dr. Peabody, on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to NuPath, 300 W Cummings Park #354, Woburn, MA 01801.
