Mary L. (DeSantis) Mastrangelo, 87, died peacefully on Monday, March 20, 2023 in the Seacoast Nursing & Retirement Home in Gloucester.

Born in Boston on September 11, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Biagio and Maria DeSantis. Mary had resided in Dorchester for many years before moving to Peabody in 1972.

Mary was employed as a seamstress at Gardner Mattress in Salem for many years before retiring in 2017.

She enjoyed all animals including the many pets she had through the years. Her greatest love was spending time with her family. Mary was the kindest person you could ever meet, always there for anyone and would help any chance she could. In her recent years at The Linden at Danvers, she enjoyed participating in the many activities and events along with other residents and caregivers whom enjoyed her sassy humor.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Mark Pecukonis of Danvers and Diana and Rob Hamerstrom of Nashua, NH and two grandchildren, Melissa and Alex Pecukonis.

Her funeral services will be privately held on Thursday in New Calvary Cemetery, Mattapan.
