PEABODY - Mary M (McEnaney) Tirabassi, beloved wife of the late Robert Tirabassi, passed on Tuesday morning April 4, 2023, at the Brudnick Center for Living in Peabody, after a lengthy battle with dementia.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret (Fahey) McEnaney. She grew up in Wenham, where her father was a gardener on one of the larger estates in the town. Eventually moving back to Lynn, where she went on to graduate from St Mary’s Girls High School.

She went to work at various downtown clothing stores, doing sales and modeling. Eventually, marrying the next door neighborhood boy; not long after his returning to the states from two years serving in the Army in Korea.

Mary and her growing family would move to Peabody in the early 60’s where she was content to spend the remainder of her life as long as she could get to her winter retirement home in Florida.

She enjoyed spending winters in FL with her husband socializing with friends and spending time watching her granddaughters grow.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Evelyn Tirabassi of Londonderry, NH and son, David Tirabassi of Peabody, as well as a daughter-in-law, Vivian Tirabassi of Nicholasville, KY three granddaughters, Vanessa, Deanna and Jaclyn Tirabassi all of Kentucky and a niece and nephew. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a son Kevin Tirabassi and a brother Thomas McEnaney.

There will be no visitation, but a Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday April 11, 2023, St. Ann’s Church, Peabody; followed by a burial at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
