Obituary For Michael E. Agnew

Beverly – Michael E. Agnew 70, died Friday, April 28, 2023 at the Beverly Hospital following a brief illness.

Born in Harlem, NY, he was the son of Jean (Thomas) Agnew of Lynn and the late James Agnew. He was raised and educated in Dorchester and later attended the North Shore Community College.

Mr. Agnew had been employed for many years in the Human Service field as support staff, counselor, and case manager.

A resident of the North Shore for over twenty-five years, Mr. Agnew was an accomplished musician and keyboard player, having performed with many groups including, “Perfect Touch” and “Agnew”. He was also an accomplished song writer with songs such as. “Another Chance," “Babydoll,” and "You turned my life around," just to name a few.

A few years ago, he thought seriously about his spirituality. He began learning the Bible's answers to life's important questions through a Bible study course with Jehovah’s Witnesses and started sharing what he learned and believed with others.

Mr. Agnew was known for his humor and quick wit. He was a loving father, son, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Dakota Agnew of Peabody and Tifphany Cunningham of Randolph, three grandchildren, four sisters, Cynthia Spriggs of Dorchester, Karen Agnew of Salem, Teresa Sumrall and her husband, Bernard of Jacksonville, FL and Angela Agnew of Peabody and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Wayne Warner and brother of the late Larry and Timothy Agnew.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Friday, May 12, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
