Peabody – Mr. Michel N. Vincent 85, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Brooksby Village in Peabody.

Born in Bruay-la-Buissiere, France, Michel was the son of the late Theodore and Louise Mireille (Pelat) Vincent. He graduated from Centre Jean Moulin Electromechanics' Trade School in Fleury ,Merogise, France.

Mr. Vincent worked in France and England and came to the U.S. at age 25 where he worked as an engraver, machinist, mold maker and master craftsman until his retirement. In the Summer he enjoyed boating on the lake with his family and friends. In the winter he enjoyed figure skating on the lake.

He and his son Christopher built a dance studio at his house in Hamilton MA where he hosted dance parties, taught ballroom dance as well as taught couples to dance for their weddings. He was also a dance host with Stardust Dance Productions. As an accomplished dancer, Michel was in the movie “True Lies” where he appeared in the ballroom dancing scene in the beginning of the movie and was also an extra in the movie, “Grown Ups” that was filmed on the lake he lived on.

He was a free mason for 40 years where he spent time as a master mason. He also enjoyed restoring old cars, traveling back to France to visit with family and friends. Most of all, one of his greatest joys was being a grandpa and spending time with his granddaughter. He was a friend to anyone he met. Always willing to lend a helping hand. Always had a smile on his face and a wonderful sense of humor.

Surviving him are two sons, Peter C. Vincent and his wife, Patricia of Newfields, NH and Christopher Vincent and his companion, Kristen Smith of Danvers, a daughter, Robin Vincent and her companion, Richard Atwood of Haverhill and his loving granddaughter, Serena Vincent of Newfields, NH.

Michel was a remarkable human being. I met him on the dance floor, where he was loved by all and admired for his dancing ability. He was friendly to all, and could make anyone dancing with him feel that they were the best dancer in the world...regardless of if they were any good or not. His cheerfulness and generosity of spirit were unmatched, in all parts of his life. He was fascinating to talk with, recounting the many and varied experiences of his life. He was an excellent dance teacher, and a fun dance partner for many years. I will miss him always — Gay Schoene

Michel is my brother in law, married to my late sister Valerie. We had good times together at his home in Hamilton, and my parents home in Boston. Michel was a consummate master craftsman and I have fond memories of us talking about old cars and anything to do with mechanics. Robin, Peter, Chris, we are so sorry for your loss. Michel was a friend to all and the best father. We will miss him. May he rest in peace. Dennis and Mary Arntz

I'm so sorry for the loss of your dad. I remember spending time at the house on Echo Cove Rd while growing up. Later after moving away I might see him while back visiting and he was kind & smiling. Although it's been several years now I can still see his smile. In time I hope good memories offer comfort in your loss. Cherylanne (Barton) Gray

When we think of Michel, we have the memory of a person who was always smiling, generous and who always had stories to tell. We were really happy to see him again when he came to France and also when he came for our wedding in 2005. For the record, he even wanted to come with a Cadillac to drive the married but unfortunately he couldn't. He loved dancing and traveling and that's what he will continue to do in his paradise. From our little corner of France (Vendin-lès-Béthune), we are thinking of him and all his loved ones. Deepest condolences from his French family. Frederic Corinne Lou-Ann Elliot

I remember the first time I saw Michel at a dance club in Boston and he was swingdancing with two women at the same time, having so much fun. I knew I wanted to meet him and dance with him. The dances he had at his home were so much fun. He was so special and kind to everyone around him. Donna Boudrow

I want to send my deepest condolences to the family. You've been missed very much at the dances these past few years. He was a super dancer. He was actually the one that taught me how to dance. Thank you so much Michelle for the gift of dance. Michel, may you rest in peace.

Mike was our anazing friend and incredible neighbor in Hamilton for more than 25 years. So many nights on his way home from work he'd stop and have supper with us. You would never meet a more wonderful friend. I miss you Mike and loved your friendship.

Michel's eyes twinkled with every step. He was a most memorable part of my introduction to the dancing community and forever in my heart. After having many dances with him, years ago, I ran into him at Patton Park where he was taking photographs with old fashioned cameras, another creative piece of him that I wouldn't have known about. His gifts were many and his generous soul lives on through all those he touched.
