Obituary For Nancy E Dolan

Nancy E (Flynn) Dolan, 87, of Amesbury and formerly of Peabody and Salem, passed peacefully Saturday morning with her family by her side at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert J Dolan with whom she shared over 68 years of marriage.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late James and Louise (Casey) Flynn, she was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of St. James High School, class of 1951. Upon her marriage to Robert, she moved to Peabody and lived there for over 48 years. She has spent the last 20 years living in Amesbury.
Nancy was employed for over 40 years as an administrative assistant with the United States Federal Government for the FAA and IRS before retiring in 1999.
In her retirement, she enjoyed traveling, bowling, and did volunteer work for the meals on wheels program in Amesbury. While living in Peabody, the Dolan family was known to have several pool parties for the neighbors, family, and friends. Her favorite activity though was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and sharing in all their endeavors. She will be dearly missed by all.
Nancy is survived by her loving children, Paul and his wife Sara Dolan of Amesbury, Cheryl Dolan and her husband Jim DeWolf of Merrimac, Beth Dolan, Linda and her husband Bob Birmingham, and Julie Dolan, all of Amesbury, and is also survived by her devoted nine grandchildren, Mike and Dan Dolan, Liz and Brendan DeWolf, Kim, Colleen, and Bobby Liffers, and Patrick and Brian Birmingham, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her three brothers and sister, Donald, James, and William Flynn, and Louise Brennan.
Following cremation, visiting hours will be held on Friday from 9:00 AM until 11:45 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, followed by her Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM at St. Ann’s Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Cedar Grove, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Road, Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451-1991 or at www.lungusa.org.
