Obituary For Norman A. Champagne
Peabody – Norman passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 14th at Beverly Hospital at the age of 70. He was the son of the late Rita (Gaudreault) and Lucien P. Champagne.Born and raised in Peabody, he attended Center School through 8th grade and graduated from Peabody High School in 1971.He worked as a printer at the former Hub Offset Printing Co. in Boston and Spencer Press. He also worked as a bartender for the Polish Club and St. Michaels.After Norman married in 1974, he moved to the South Shore for a period of time then eventually moved back to Peabody.Norm was an avid fan of all sports and enjoyed playing darts and softball with the Tanners Softball Team. Two of his favorite things were his dog “Stormy” and fighting over strawberry cheese pie with his Godchild, Karen.He is survived by his brother, Richard P. Champagne and his wife, Frances (Barbeau) Champagne, his sister, Patricia R. (Champagne) Crichton and her husband, Martin, and his sister, Ellen (Champagne) Gaudette. He also had three Godchildren; Fawn Hatfield, Karen Crichton, and Brianna Crichton-Hosking, as well as several nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Norman also leaves behind his partner of sixteen years, Erin Murphy.ARRANGEMENTS: Following cremation, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
