Obituary For Normand J Castonguay
Normand J. Castonguay, 83, of Peabody, passed away at his residence early Friday morning, following a lengthy battle with Dementia. He was the beloved husband of Eleanor C. (Normand) Castonguay.
Normand was born in Salem, MA, on August 19, 1937, son of the late William C. Castonguay and Lillian C. (Brault) Castonguay.
He went on to serve his country as a member of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. While serving in Korea, he discovered his love for airplanes, leading him to a long career as an airplane mechanic, working for various airlines throughout the years.
He was also a very active parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church in Peabody, where he was also a member of the folk group and choir. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Boston Bruins, traveling, playing the guitar, taking cruises, and camping.
He is survived by his children, Lisa Marques of Peabody, Paul Castonguay of Beverly, Kathleen Pinto and her husband Mario of Salem; her grandchildren, Casey, Joshua, Genevieve, Alyssa, Caitlyn, Tyler, Nicole and her husband Benjamin, Kimberly, and Alison; her great-grandchildren, Luke and Lily, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
His Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 2, at St. John the Baptist Church, 17 Chestnut St., Peabody at 11A.M. Burial will follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. If you wish to donate in Normand’s memory, please donate to Care Dimensions in Danvers, MA.
