Patrick J Woods, 71, of Pocasset and formerly of Peabody, died Monday May 2, 2022, at the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis following a brief illness. Born in Salem, he was the son of the late John and Agnes (O’Connor) Woods. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of St. John’s Prep, class of 1969. He continued his education at Boston College for a 2 ½ years before going into the family business. Patrick was the President of P.J. Woods Insurance Company in Peabody, a family-owned insurance company that started in 1898, for the last 30 years. He was a past-president of the Lions Club and served on the board at North Shore Bank as well. Patrick is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Fran Woods of Middleton, his niece and two nephews, William J and his wife Shannon, John P. Woods, and Mary Ellen and her husband Rino D’Alfonso, and his great nieces and nephews, Jack, Lauren, Natalie, and Patrick Woods and Nicole D’Alfonso, and is also survived by his dear co-workers as well. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 3:00 until 7:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody and his Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
