Obituary For Paul A. Lewalski

Paul A. Lewalski, 69, a lifelong resident of Peabody, died peacefully on Tuesday August 9, 2022 at the Blueberry Hill Nursing Home in Beverly with his family by his side. He was born in Salem, MA on April 17, 1953, the son of the late Theodore and Lydia (Michelazzo) Lewalski.
Paul was a graduate of Peabody Vocational High School where he immersed himself in his first love of auto mechanics. After graduation, he worked alongside his father at Comet Leather Finishing Company in Peabody for several years before turning his talents to owning and operating Paul Allen Beauty Salon also in Peabody.
Getting back to his love of auto mechanics, Paul opened a motorcycle shop where he conceptualize and built two Chopper motorcycles as well as repaired bikes for his friends. On any given Sunday, Paul could be found cruising down the back roads of New England with his group of motorcycle pals! Being “in the wind” was where Paul was happiest!
Music was another of Paul’s loves, which resulted in the forming of a local band where he was lead guitarist for many years.
He enjoyed puttering around his house, keeping in shape, and regaling his family with recollections of times gone by during holiday gatherings.
A life well lived but cut short too soon, Paul will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his two sons, Theodore Lewalski and George Lewalski both of Peabody, a sister, Carolyn Connolly of Needham, a brother, Steven Lewalski of Melrose, and predeceased by a brother Wayne Lewalski Sr. Paul is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Wayne Lewalski Jr. of Manchester, NH, Michelle Campagna of Essex, Michael Lewalski of New Jersey, Amy Lewalski also of New Jersey, Elizabeth Lewalski of Billerica, Emily Lewalski of Peabody as well as many friends. He was the former husband of Mary Susan (Abbott) Lewalski.
A private family service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Salem, MA on Saturday August 13, 2022. Expressions of sympathy may be made in Paul’s memory to the charity of your choice or to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan Street., Suite 102 B, Danvers, MA 01923.

I remember him teaching me how to ride a dirt bike and helping me fix it. I loved being in his basement with the slots and pinball machines. You will be missed Uncle Paul

Teddy George and Steven. What can I say. He was the cool guy growing up. He could fix anything. Loved working at the shop with him. Most of all loved dancing the night away with his awesome jukebox in his basement. Thought it was the greatest. My heart is broken. Such a dear friend. Love to all Kim Petkavich

There was a small gap between the yards where the tall privet hedge met the wire fence. Over the years it sort of grew as the Hitchman kids passed thru to the Lewalski's yard and visa versa. Our childhood was one of the easy outdoor games of the 50's and 60's. My memories are fond of those times! Healing prayers Steve and Carolyn. Paul you will be missed. Donna
