R. Sally (Finocchiaro) Perron, 97, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 17, 2021, at the Devereux House Nursing Home in Marblehead. Born on October 19, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Finocchiaro and Mary (Colongera) (Finocchiaro) Teoli.

Mrs. Perron was predeceased by her brother, Sebastian Finocchiaro, and her sister, Mary Bergeron. She was also predeceased by her brother and sister, Philip, and Alice Finocchiaro who passed away during childhood.

Sally attended Peabody schools, and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1942. She married her husband Carl “Scott” Perron on September 16, 1945. They shared 34 years of marriage until his passing in 1979.

Sally is survived by her 3 children, Victoria (Perron) Maynard of Peabody, Patricia (Perron) Dollard and son in law, Michael Dollard of Manchester, NH. and her son, Frank Perron of Ipswich; five grandchildren, Kendra Kocur of Derry, NH., David Maynard of Peabody, Scott Dollard of Lynn, Patrick Dollard and his wife Liz of Derry, NH., and Tyler Perron of Ipswich; eight great grandchildren, Nicole (Kocur) Sullivan and her husband Adam, Peyton Kocur, Jake Kocur, Sam Dollard and Nolan Dollard all of Derry, NH., Hunter, Leanne and Travis Maynard all of Danvers; her great-great grandson, Caden Sullivan; and her cat, Sweetie (who lives with Vicki). She loved animals, especially her “Sweetie”. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

She worked at JJ Newberrys in Peabody for many years, then went to work at Hotwatt in Danvers for 35 years until her retirement. In her younger years you could find Sally at a Bingo Hall or in Foxwoods Casino or buying scratch tickets. She was an avid reader, she especially loved those books written by her favorite author, Nora Roberts, still reading well into her nineties.

We will miss her wit and sassiness when she felt like it. Some days she was quiet and some days she was quick witted and would remember a lot of things from “way way back”. We lived in Germany for a year in 1951-1952 while Scott was in the Army. Vicki was 4 and 5 years old at the time and joined both of them to live in Frankfort Germany for a year, then she and her family moved back to the Northshore, mostly in Peabody, later in Lynn and to the Devereux house (her nursing home for a few years) in Marblehead.

Arrangements: Visiting hours will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 12:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial services will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. At the request of the family, masks are recommended at the funeral home.
