Obituary For Raymond A. Bradley

Bradley, Raymond Alvin, North Andover, MA, formerly of Lynn, passed away on July 13, 2021 after several months of declining health due to Dementia, he passed away peacefully at the age of 87.

Ray was born in Peabody, MA on February 17, 1934, the son of the late Matilda (Pollard) Bradley and the late Laurance E. Bradley Sr. He grew up in Peabody, attended Peabody public schools and at the age of 18 enlisted in the U.S. Army becoming a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

Ray worked in facilities maintenance for the oil industry in Massachusetts and New Jersey for most of his career. Always a dedicated, hard worker with a need to stay busy and active, he continued to work into his retirement years as a courier for Velocity Printing Solutions until the age of 80. Ray enjoyed watching the Patriots and Red Sox games, TV game shows and attending weekly bingo. In his younger years he was a fun-loving and sometimes mischievous, in his late years, Ray wasn’t a man of many words due to his illness, but his love, friendliness and contentment could be felt and seen with his hugs, handshakes, and smiles for everyone.

Ray is survived by and will be sadly missed by his love and loving life partner, Patricia Homan, his children Debra Mumbauer of Peabody, Michael and his wife Jane Bradley of Lynn, Laurence Bradley of Lynn, Wendy and her husband Jay Smith of Kingston, New Hampshire, thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter. He was predeceased by his son Christopher Bradley and his former wife Corinne Bradley. Survived by his sister, Joan L. Walker of Peabody and brothers, Donald L. Bradley of Northwood, N.H., Daniel W. Bradley of Tisbury, Martha's Vineyard, and Paul A. Bradley of Peabody and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Laurance E. Bradley Jr.

Ray’s family would like to give special thanks to the Sutton Hill Nursing Center staff who were so kind and loving in their care for Ray.

An intimate service will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peabody. For those who have known Ray, his graveside service will be held on Friday July 30 at 11:30 a.m. Those attending should meet at the cemetery entrance at 11:15 a.m.

For those wishing to donate an expression of sympathy, please consider the Veterans Wounded Warrior Project or the Alzheimer's Association in memory of Raymond Alvin Bradley.
