Obituary For Raymond W Jacques

Raymond W. Jacques, husband of Virginia Ruth (Diachisin) Jacques, for sixty-nine years, passed away on Tuesday August 22, 2023. Born and raised in Peabody, he graduated from Peabody High School, class of 1951.

An honorably discharged veteran, he served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Air Force.

Mr. Jacques was employed for forty years as a Supervisor for GTE Sylvania in Salem, until the time of his retirement.

The passion Raymond had for sports was second to none. He is a member of the PHS Hall of Fame, in which he excelled in hockey, football and baseball. This great passion was passed down to four generations of his family. He spent the last 50 years coaching his son, and his grandsons, while teaching his granddaughters and great grandchildren his love of the game, no matter what sport they chose. There was never a game that he missed.

He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife Ruth, as well as his son Raymond Jacques and his wife Michelle, his daughter Cynthia Norwood and her husband Darrell Norwood, and his daughter Leslie Minter and her former husband Wayne. Raymond leaves six loving grandchildren, Kevin Norwood and his wife Stephanie, Kristine Pelletier and her husband Brian, Alex Minter and his wife Jessica, Christopher Minter and his wife Haylie, Raymond Jacques and Jessica Jacques. Also, seven great grandchildren, Chase, Kayleigh, Cameron Pelletier, Harper Minter, and Adaline Minter, and Gabriella and Giselle Norwood. Raymond also leaves behind his sister, Marie Snow, and was predeceased by his brother Roger Rogers.

His Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the Second Congregational Church, Maple St, Peabody. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
