Obituary For Rebecca "Becca" Walsh

Revere - Rebecca “Becca” Walsh, 39, of Revere, formerly of Peabody passed away unexpectedly while on the phone with her mother on Monday, August 7, 2023. She was eagerly planning for her 40th birthday next week with friends and family.

Rebecca grew up in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School, class of 2001. She graduated from Fitchburg State College in 2005. Becca pursued multiple Master’s Degrees in Advanced Studies of Education and Special Education.

She had been working for many years in the Lynn Public Schools as a Special Education Teacher, currently at the Callahan School. She loved her job and her “kids”, keeping in touch and following many kids as they progressed to graduation.

Rebecca was supportive of everyone; saw the good in people. Had a passion for helping people with special needs, starting in middle school, volunteering for the Special Olympics. She has an infectious laugh, loved having fun and keeping in touch with her many friends and Saturday night get togethers with Stacey and her kids. She was very sure of herself and was comfortable with who she was. She loved family gatherings, especially those Christmas’s with everyone at her parent’s house. Rebecca was also an avid Red Sox fan.

Rebecca leaves her loving parents, Marcia and Richard Walsh; her favorite brother, Patrick Walsh; a special cousin, Nicholas Kane; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She dearly loved her dogs Molly, Tessie and Olive. Rebecca will be missed more than she will ever know!

ARRANGEMENTS: Her Funeral Service will held at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street Peabody on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rebecca’s memory to a children’s charity of your choice. I worked with Becca in Salem and Lynn and there is no doubt she loved her job and working with her kiddos. She always had a smile on her face and would go out of her way to say hello. The world won't be as bright without her light. Rest easy up there and find the peace you deserve. <3 Marla

Marcia, Rich, and Patrick — we are heartsick for you. Rebecca was one of the sea of kids who played and grew up together on our Allen Road Extension. And years later, she showed how special she was by becoming a caring special education teacher. Your Becca has left a mark, we are so sorry for her passing, and we will keep you in our prayers. Sincerely, the Doonans (Mary, George, Patrick, Christine, and Gregory)

Ellen and I are so sad of the thought of us no longer having Bex in our lives. She was a caring, devoted personal friend. Our daily texts were always a bright spot in our day. We shared so much over the years from our days teaching together in Salem to our weekly Friday "meeting" with long agendas. We will keep the memories of us all laughing together at Giggles Comedy Club a couple of weeks ago. We love you. Rest in Peace. Love Larry and Ellen.

I only knew Rebecca as a child, decades ago when I worked with her father, Rich. I am not very good at what to say, but I just wanted to say I am very sorry for your loss. In some ways it feels even more tragic to me as I really only remember the lovely little girl.

There are no words "Bec." We go all the way back to 6th grade at the Higgins. So many memories including your paper route, and stops at TJ's store for an afternoon snack! Later in life you helped me with my son and went to IEP meetings...I will always be grateful! The Fitz was the place to be, and don't forget "Pajama Joe!" You will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you for being you. Rest easy beautiful Angel, we love you. XoxO
