My wife Diane and I met Dick in the mid-eighties while we were living in New Brunswick. He frequently stayed at our house and we always looked forward to his trips for work and pleasure after we moved to Nova Scotia. I fondly remember the many conversations we had after dinner and in particular those centered around technical matters he would be involved in with his customers. There was always a positive approach to any problem and a cheerful attitude. We are so glad to call Dick our friend and wish to extend our heartfelt sympathy to his family and Theresa. Dick was a great mentor for me when I was a rookie in the technical sales arena. We traveled many a mile together in British Columbia and Alberta to many pulp and paper mills we would have got there faster if not for the many stops to take some pictures which he very much enjoyed doing. I didn't mind because I learned so much from him. Oh how great it would be to travel a few more miles with him. RIP Dick. From Dennis Shanahan
