Obituary For Robert A. Sullivan

Robert A. Sullivan “Bob” passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday night February 22, 2022 after a long and courageous fight with leukemia. For anyone who had the honor of knowing him, Bob was an incredibly kind, patient, relentlessly hardworking, and generous man. Anyone that was fortunate enough to know him knew he was always willing to help anyone in need and loved his family and friends with all his heart. He enjoyed the outdoors, boating, camping, motorcycling, snowmobiling and skiing. He loved to travel and spent most of his off time with his family in Maine, Florida & Cape Cod.

Bob was successful in many aspects of his life and achieved anything that he put his mind to. He was an Eagle Scout before graduating from Shawsheen Valley Technical High School in 1981 and was student of the month in his senior year. He started his HVAC career as a technician, followed by a bold decision to start his own enterprise with his close friend John Breen; and Breen and Sullivan Mechanical Services was established in 1992. Since then he has been a man of many trades, and continuously maintained many professional licenses and certifications. He always spoke of how proud he was of his skilled, hardworking and dedicated team; especially holding in high regard his partner Jeffrey Beane.

Anyone who knew Bob, would find it easy to say he lived for the joy of his life with his wife Linda and daughter Kayla. In his home, Adoption day became an annual celebration of the proudest day of his life: the day he adopted Kayla.

He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 26 years Linda (Dodge) Sullivan of Boxford, daughter Kayla Nally and her husband Craig, mother Bernice Sullivan, brother Dana Sullivan and his wife Jennifer, sister Lisa Salem and husband Bill, sister Holly Pelton and her husband Brian, mother-in-law Sandra Dodge, father-in-law Francis Dodge, brother-in-law Robert Dodge and wife Laurie, sister-in-law Susan Brady, sister-in-law Jenny Solimine and husband Scott and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. His family is relieved to know he’ll now be spending his time in heaven with his beloved father Robert G. Sullivan and brother Brian Sullivan.

Anyone that wishes to make a non-monetary donation in Bob’s honor, please consider donating blood and platelets through the Mass General Donation Center https://www.massgeneral.org/blood-donor/contact or your local Red Cross https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/find-drive

In lieu of flowers, checks can be made to “The Brian P. Sullivan Memorial Scholarship Fund” and sent to 55 Ellingwood Ave, Billerica, MA 01821-6203; to benefit the hardest working seniors at the Shawsheen Valley Technical High School, with tools and funding for continuing education.

Those that knew him will gather Tuesday March 1st from 4pm-8pm at Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home; 82 Lynn St, Peabody, MA. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

My condolences to Bob's family. I was so sad when I first learned of Bob's illness from my dear friend Sandy Dodge, Bobs's mother-in-law. I prayed for his recovery. Bob's kindness and compassion was infectious. His smile was so warm and he was always glad to see you. My heart aches for Linda, Kayla, Bunny and all of Bob's family. He truly was a special man and one who left a mark on everyone who knew him. I attended his wake and the number uof people there showed how much he will be missed and how much he was truly loved. I feel very blessed to have know Bob. All my love, Marilyn Patterson

I have fond memories growing up on the Cape with Bob and his family. I have very distinct memories of going for rides or to the drive-in in his GTO. He was a always the polite, responsible one in the group and a role model for all. My heartfelt sympathies to his entire family.

Handsome, It was an honor to be your wife and share our love and life together. We had the most special love two people could have, always loving each other unconditionally. I adored you and will always cherish the times we spent together. Being loved by you and having you in my life was a privilege. I was always so proud of you. You are and have always been the most incredible person I have ever met. I will love you, honor you and miss you every minute of every day. I already miss you so much. I am so sorry you had to go through all of this. Thank you for fighting this leukemia as hard as you could. No one else could have tried so hard. I was so lucky to have you for the time I did. Love always and forever, Linda Sullivan

I had the good fortune/honor of being hired by both Bob Sullivan and Jeff Beane about 5 years ago. I have constantly been impressed with the dedication/drive/leadership and compassion Bob has shown since day one. A soft spoken man who lead his team by example. I know Bob's passing will leave a void in all our lives....especially his family. I pray that many wonderful memories will help...along the way. My condolences. Warm Regards, Luanne Little - Breen & Sullivan Mechanical
