Obituary For Robert D. "Sully" Sullivan

Robert “Sully” Sullivan, 81, of Cape Cod, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 22,2022 surrounded by his loving family. Sully was born and raised in Peabody, the son of the late Daniel and Victoria (Bick) Sullivan and relocated to Cape Cod following his retirement. He worked as a foreman for Gloucester Engineering for 33 years and later enjoyed a part time job at Walgreen’s in Peabody.

Sully coached Peabody girls’ softball for 25 years, first with Wilson Sq. Chevron, then Holden’s Oil and later with the Peabody Recreation Senior Ladies Softball.

He loved all sports, especially his cherished New England Patriots, along with the Red Sox, Bruins, and his favorite college teams, Notre Dame, and Boston College. He was loved and well-known throughout Peabody and always greeted everyone with a joke or laughter.

After his retirement on Cape Cod, he spent many winters in Florida where he and his wife developed another group of friends and relationships that last to this day.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor (Masino) Sullivan of 60 years, his daughters. Kelly of Cape Cod, and Lori and her husband Todd Baker of New Hampshire, his sister-in-law, Ann Marie Crane, a special friend Marge Leonard, his devoted Patriot pals Mike Perham and Jim Morsett, several nieces, nephews, and cousins who were very dear to him, and last but not least his beloved “grand-dog” Bailey. Sully and Bailey had a special bond, they took a walk every day and especially loved going to the beach. He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel Sullivan Jr.
