Obituary For Robert E. "Bob" Warner
Robert E. “Bob” Warner, 80, formerly of Peabody and Jupiter, FL, died Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Anna Jaques Hospital, Newburyport after a five-month illness. He was the devoted husband of Sandra “Sandy” (Mercurio) Warner, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Bob was born in Lynn, MA on July 17, 1941, the son of the late John and Ellen (Morgan) Warner and was raised in Saugus, graduating from Saugus High School and attending Northeastern University. He then entered the US Army, serving four years during the Cuban crisis and the beginning of the Vietnam era before his discharge in 1962. He had resided in Peabody and later at The Greens in North Reading before he and his wife Sandy retired to Jupiter, Florida. He was first employed at Market Forge in Everett for 10 years and later became a self-employed salesman in the transportation industry for 25 years prior to his retirement. Bob was an avid golfer and member of the Thomson Country Club for many years and played golf in the winter months in Florida. He also found much fulfillment while volunteering for the Special Olympics every year in Orlando. He enjoyed all the New England Sports, but he especially enjoyed being “Grampy” to his five precious grandchildren. Always the life of the party, Bob will be remembered for his gregarious personality and great sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Sandra of Jupiter, FL, a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Lynne Warner of Groveland, a daughter, Lisa Warner of Georgetown, and a son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Jessica Warner of Melrose, MA, his five grandchildren, John Rogers, Danielle Rogers, Alyx Warner, Erica Warner and Tayla Racca and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late George, Jack and James Warner and Diane Nuzzo. Due to the pandemic, a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the St Jude Children’s research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis TN, 38105 in his memory.
