Obituary For Robert P Barry

Robert P. Barry, 62 of Salem, NH and formerly of Peabody, Danvers, and Methuen, died unexpectedly Saturday at his home.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Paul F and Helen T (Sowle) Barry. He was a graduate of Danvers High School, class of 1979 and later continued his education at Northern Essex Community College and received his nursing degree.

Robert was in the nursing field for over 36 years, first as an LPN and later as an RN. For over 30 years, he worked at Hogan Regional Center caring for patients with developmental disabilities. Lynn, Robert, Nicholas, Mackenzie, Margot and the entire Barry family, I was extremely shocked and very saddened to learn of Bob's sudden passing. Bob and I became very good friends working together at The Chase Home. Bob and I worked on the same shifts and had great talks about both of our lives. Bob spoke every day about how proud that he was of all his kids and so blessed to have Margot in his life. Bob spoke passionately about Lynn on a consistent basis and praised her for being such a great mother. Bob also spoke often about the family cottage on Newfound Lake and how much that it meant to him, especially to be with his family there. Bob and I also had many laughs on a daily basis, some laughs that actually made us both tear up. Bob and I shared and talked about many life experiences that we had in common. Bob was a very good friend and a great man. I will sorely miss him, our talks and our laughs. God Bless, Ed Monette

OMG! I am so sad. I worked with Bob at Hogan for a few years back in the 90s. I had great affection for him. Bob was dedicated to his clients, and treated everyone with great love and respect. He was caring, loved his family, loved his friends, loved his dogs. He was funny, and could make a tough 11-7 shift fly by. I worked with him every night, and I am grateful to have had the chance to know him. I haven't seen him in many years, but he'll always have a place in my heart and memory. I am so sorry to his family for this loss. He talked about all of you all of the time. He loved you so much. Linda (McCarthy) Coddens
