Rogerio F. Loureiro, 77, of Peabody, passed away Thursday, July 26, at his residence, following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Arminda Nazare (Simoes) Loureiro. Rogerio was born in Pombeiro da Beira, Arganil, Portugal, on June 9, 1944, son of the late Joao Loureiro and Beatriz (Ferreira) Loureiro. He was raised and educated in Portugal and had served as a member of the Portuguese military, prior to emigrating to the United States. Prior to his retirement, he had worked as a construction worker for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed tending to his garden, doing little construction jobs around the house, indulging in chocolate ice cream, watching his favorite Portuguese soccer team, S.L. Benfica, but most importantly spending time with his loving family. He was also a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church and the Azorean Brotherhood of the Divine Holy Ghost, both in Peabody. Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his daughters, Maria Amorim and her husband Domingos of Peabody, Louise Loureiro of Peabody, Aida Loureiro and her husband Americo Domigues of Haverhill; his grandchildren, Amanda Amorim, Makalya Lanceleve, Daeson Lanceleve, Jr., Noah Lanceleve, Amy Domingues; his siblings, Acacio Loureiro and Clotilde Loureiro, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Joao and Aurelio Loureiro. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 5, from 3-7P.M. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. MASKS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. His funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 6, in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Walsh Ave., Peabody at 9 A.M. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
