Obituary For Rose M. (Bonfanti) Moschetto

Rose M. (Bonfanti) Moschetto, age 96, of Swampscott, passed away on May 22, 2021 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House following a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband, Angelo, with whom she shared 40 years of marriage.

Rose was born on January 7, 1925 in Wakefield, MA to parents Leonard and Angela Bonfanti. She was raised in Peabody, MA, where she spent most of her life. Rose was a graduate of Peabody High School, Class of 1942. She later studied at the Essex County Homemaking School where she graduated with a diploma in cosmetology in 1959. Rose went on to open her own beauty salon in Peabody where was the proud owner for over a decade before she retired.

After retiring, Rose spent her time traveling and spent her winters in Clearwater, Florida for over 20 years. Rose was a fantastic cook and would never let anyone leave her home hungry. She loved to shop and spent countless hours doing so with her nieces. Rose was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her family was her biggest source of pride. She loved to celebrate all of the achievements and milestones of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews.

Rose is predeceased by her sisters Cora Fronte, Mary Mallia, Josephine DeFrancesco, Connie Sacco and brothers Ignatius, Charles, Manuel, Joseph, and Leonard. She is survived by two sons, Robert of RI and John (“Jack”) of NH; two granddaughters, Cara Hayes, and her husband David, of Marblehead and Rosemarie Moschetto of NH; two great-granddaughters Ashley and Emily Hayes, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held at St. Ann’s Church, 140 Lynn St., Peabody on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Conway Cahill Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. prior to the service. All attendees are required to wear mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines. Burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lynn.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to St Jude Children’s Hospital by mail, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or online at stjude.org.
