Obituary For Rosemary F. (Scorzella) Butler

Rosemary F. (Scorzella) Butler, age 82, of Peabody, beloved wife of the late Frederick W. Butler Jr. passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021, at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington.

Rosemary was born in Boston on February 23, 1939, daughter of the late Alfred and Mary Rose (Gonzalez) Scorzella. She was raised and educated in Winthrop and was a graduate of Winthrop High School. Rosemary lived in Peabody for over 23 years.

Mrs. Butler had been employed at Woodstock Corporation, where she worked as a financial administrative assistant for many years.

Rosemary was an active member of St. Adelaide’s Church in Peabody, where she served as Head of the Alter Society. She was also an honored member of the Red Hats in Winthrop.

Mrs. Butler enjoyed baking and cooking. She will be remembered for her caring and compassionate nature. She adored her son and daughter, Stephen and Lynne. She found great joy in spending time with Lynne and her friends. Rosemary was a mother to everyone. She also loved the trips she would take to visit her son Stephen and his family in Maine. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Rosemary is survived by her daughter, Lynne Butler of Peabody; her son, Stephen Butler and his wife Kelli of Rangeley, ME., her grandchildren, Steven, Justin, and Dylan; her great granddaughter, Alyvia; and her brother Richard Scorzella and his wife Nancy. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Alfred Scorzella Jr.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held at St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody, Thursday, August 19, 2021, at 11 a.m. A visitation will be held prior to the service at Conway Cahill Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, on Thursday from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn memorial park, Peabody. Contributions may be made in her memory to My Brother’s Table, 98 Willow St, Lynn, MA 01901.

    Rosemary wasn't just a family friend she was family. We spent many holidays together and also trips to Wells, Maine and our Uno game get togethers. You were the best and always thoughtful. Cooking for my dad when my mom passed and making your famous bird cookies for mom and Harry. We will cherish all these memories as we remember you always.
