Peabody - Sandra D. Rizzo, 82, wife of the late Alfred L. Rizzo, died Monday, August 9, 2021 at her residence surrounded by family.

She was born in Somerville, Massachusetts, in 1939, the daughter of the late Cecil and Kathryn Cook. She was raised and educated in East Boston. Sandra “Sam” lived with her husband and two sons in Everett, MA, before moving to Peabody in 1977, where she has resided for the past 44 years.

Sandy loved her family and her cats (Whiskers, Muffin, Ginger, Tutu, Pudgy, Patches, Jaws, Baby, and Pokey) Sandy enjoyed spending summers at the beach in Ocean Park, Maine, with her family. She created many years of memories by her pool, listening to her music with family and friends. Sandra was employed by Stop and Shop Company for over 30 years.

Surviving her are two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Eileen Rizzo of Marstons Mills and Ronald and Lisa Rizzo of Walpole; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William and Marie Rizzo of Peabody; two sisters, Kathryn Cahill and Barbara White; a brother, Thomas Cook; four grandchildren, Jonathan, Brett, Madison, and Dorothy Rizzo; two great-grandchildren, Arthur and Ethan; and many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Burial in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave., Salem, MA 01970.
