Obituary For Sandra L. "Sandy" (Cormier) Strazzulla

Danvers – Sandra L. (Cormier) Strazzulla 66, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, November 28, 2021.

Born in Saugus, she was the daughter of the late Edward N. Sr. and Marian R. (McLeod) Cormier. She graduated from Danvers High School, class of 1973 and earned her Bachelor’s degree from North Adams State College and Master’s degree from Salem State College.

Ms. Strazzulla had been employed for many years as a supervisor for child services for the Department of Mental Health until the time of her retirement in 2019.

Sandy had resided in Salem, Beverly and Byfield prior to returning to Danvers where she had since resided.

She is survived by her sister, Catherine Butler and her husband, Jay of Hamilton, a niece, Christie (Butler) Drinkwater and two nephews, Ken and Jay Cormier. She was also the sister of the late Edward N. Cormier Jr. and Michael Cormier.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Monday, December 6, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A Visiting hour will be held prior to the service on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Burial in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, Attn: Financial Operations, 733 Third Ave., Ste. 510, New York, NY 10017.

    Cathy and Jay Linda and I are so sorry to hear about the passing of Cousin Sandy. We know no words can ease your pain but please know we are both thinking of you both and are terribly sorry. She will be in our thoughts and prayers. May she rest in peace.

    So very sorry to hear of Sandy's passing. She was an incredible person and she was so incredibly dedicated to helping kids and families. She always went above and beyond and was an exceptional advocate for kids. The world would be a better place if there were more people like Sandy in it.     As a colleague and friend, I am saddened by Sandy's passing. She worked tirelessly for children and teens, supporting them and their loved ones, in dealing with the challenges they faced. I know that the many people she served, will recall her with thankfulness.
