Sharon E. Watkins, 83, of Peabody, MA, passed away peacefully, Saturday, October 1,2022, at Sunrise Senior Living in Lynnfield. She was the devoted wife of the late, Sheldon P Watkins. Sharon was born August 20,1939, in Fort Worth Texas the daughter of the late, Hershel and Wanda (Blanton)Cartwright. She was raised and educated in Texas. She was a loving, caring mother who was fortunate enough to be able to stay at home with her children until they were all in school full time. She worked at Sears in Peabody for several years and moved on to be an Accounting Clerk at Bostik in Middleton for several years until she retired in 2002. Sharon was a great seamstress and enjoyed making clothing for herself, family and friends. She also enjoyed quilting and made quilts for each of her children as they were married, her grandchildren and great grandchildren as they were born and for the children of many friends She enjoyed camping, especially at Acres of Wildlife campground in Maine. She was most passionate about her devotion to family and loved spending time with all four generations. She was a devout Christian woman who enjoyed spending time with and working with her church family. She is predeceased by her husband, Sheldon with whom she shared 61 years of marriage and her loving daughter-in-law, Cindy with whom she lived for 8 years. She is also predeceased by her brother, Richard Cartwright. Sharon is survived by her children, Kimberly Hartigan and husband Patrick, Kevin Watkins husband of the late Cindy (McAuley) Watkins Rebecca Larrabee and husband Jeff and Christopher Watkins and wife Patty. She also leaves behind, seven grandchildren, Glenn, Jeremy, Melanie, Nathaniel, Brianna, Joshua and Lauren and five great grandchildren, Evelynne, Nora, Max, Hailey and Emily and sister-in-law Geneva Cartwright who was Richard’s wife. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a service to celebrate her life, Saturday October 8, 2022, at 11:00 AM at The Melrose Church of Christ, 409 Upham St, Melrose, MA 02176.
