Obituary For Sister Julie Cecilia Lyver, SNDdeN

Ipswich - Sister Julie Cecilia Lyver, SNDdeN, 91, went peacefully home to her good God on October 4, 2021 at the Saint Julie Residential Care Center in Ipswich, MA. She was born Mary E. Lyver in Somerville, MA to parents, Francis W. and Mary E. (Murphy) Lyver. She entered the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur February 2, 1948 in Waltham, MA.

Sr. Julie earned her BA in Elementary Education from Emmanuel College, as well as an MA in Education from Salem State. Sr. Julie taught in several schools in the greater Boston area including in Lawrence, East Boston, Dorchester and Salem. She was the Principal at O.L.C.A. Waltham, St. Mary, Shrewsbury and St. Anthony, Somerville.

Sr. Julie continued her passion for learning into her retirement in Ipswich. She was never without a book or a word puzzle to solve. Her twin brother, John (Jack) was truly devoted to her. He visited often and always brought his famous homemade brownies to share with the whole community.

Sr. Julie Cecilia is survived by her twin brother, John of Burlington, her loving nieces and nephews, and their families. She is predeceased by her brothers, Francis and William Lyver. Sr. Julie is also survived by her Sisters and Associates in the Notre Dame community, her many friends and former students, and the devoted staff of the St. Julie Billiart Residential Care Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated privately at 10:30 am at Our Lady Queen Chapel in Ipswich, MA, on Thursday, October 7, preceded by a wake service at 10:00 in the chapel. The Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, MA is directing arrangements.
