Obituary For Sr Eileen M Finnigan

Sister Eileen Marie Finnigan, of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, died January 16, 2022, at the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Residence, Ipswich.

Sister Eileen was born in Dorchester, beloved daughter of John A. and Helen F. (Doolin) Finnigan. She was the sister of the late John A. Finnigan, Jr. She leaves behind her devoted and beloved cousins Kevin Doolin and Mary Ann (Doolin) Scannell and her faithful Sisters in community, the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.

Sister Eileen taught at Notre Dame Academy, Worcester; Saint Gregory High School, Dorchester; Saint Clare High School, Roslindale and Notre Dame Education Center, South Boston. For the past 11 years she was the bookkeeper for the Common Market Restaurants in Quincy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated privately at Our Lady Queen Chapel in Ipswich, MA, on Friday, January 21, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. Viewing at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel. Please call to register at 978-356-4381. Sr. Eileen will be buried in Dorchester at Cedar Grove Cemetery (920 Adams St.) on Monday, January 24th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, 351 Broadway, Everett, MA 02149.
