Dear Christopher, Anthony, and Jim, I'm so sad that your father has died. My family and I will cherish our 53 year friendship which began in the summer of 1970 when we moved to a house next door to you in West Peabody Massachusetts. Within days we became close friends; bound by our common interests, religion, and family values. We enjoyed special events and celebrations as if we were one family even when we both moved and ultimately ended up living in the same town of Acton, Massachusetts. In 1973, Steve became godfather to my daughter Lara. We created a lifetime of memories. We went to church every Sunday, loved to cook and share Greek and Ukrainian customs. New England lobster Easter lamb on the outdoor spit grill was very special; Steve and Jim were experts at carving the whole lamb. There were many years at the Saint Vasilios charity balls, and Greek line dancing taught by Steve and Anita. They were great teachers to Jim and I. There were graduations, weddings, birthday parties, christenings and memorials, and happy and sad times. Many outings and trips to Vermont and New Hampshire mountains, skiing, and vacations to San Francisco, the Cape, and our house in Arizona. Then there were movies, theater, fairs, sports events, and of course the frequent "pop-in" visits just to say "hello" and enjoy each other's company. What I will miss most is Steve's burstful laugh and big smile; his kind demeanor and his genuine and loyal friendship. He joins my husband Jim in Heaven. Rest In Peace. With sincere condolences and love, Leda Ellis, and my family John, Tania, and Lara, and grandchildren.
