Obituary For Stephen Hayes

Covina, California - Stephen Hayes, a beloved son, brother, father, and friend, peacefully passed away on August 22, 2023, at the age of 54. Born on January 10, 1969, in Boston, Massachusetts, Stephen's journey took him from the bustling streets of Boston to the serene landscapes of Maine, and the vibrant spirit of California in between.

From a young age, Stephen's love for the outdoors shaped his life in remarkable ways. He found solace and joy in nature, whether it was exploring the urban energy of Boston or the tranquil landscapes of Maine during the summer. Camping, hiking, snowmobiling, fishing, and kayaking were not just activities for Stephen; they were expressions of his soul's connection to the world around him. He passed on this appreciation for nature and the joy of adventure to his two cherished daughters, Amelia and Desiree.

Stephen's unwavering support and affection enriched the lives of those he held dear. He shared a special bond with his siblings, Elizabeth Eminhizer, Pauline Herron, Tim Hayes, Mary Herndon, Theresa Hayes, and Bernie Hayes-Maglia, built on a foundation of love and shared experiences. His siblings were a constant source of strength and companionship throughout his life.

In his career, Stephen worked as a project manager at Cox Cable Company. His dedication and expertise made a lasting impact on his colleagues and the company he served.

Stephen faced the daunting diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer with unwavering courage and determination. He sought treatment at the City of Hope in California, where he found new ways to embrace life's pleasures, from boating adventures to walks on the beach. His spirit and resilience serve as an inspiration to us all.

Stephen is survived by his loving daughters, Amelia Marie Hayes and Desiree Marguerite Hayes. He is also survived by his siblings, Elizabeth Hayes Eminhizer, Pauline Hayes Herron, Timothy Hayes, Mary Hayes Herndon, Theresa Hayes, and Margaret Bernadette "Bernie" Hayes Maglia. Stephen was preceded in death by his son, Davin Nicholas Hayes, and his parents, John and Catherine Hayes.

Stephen Hayes leaves behind a legacy that will forever be etched in our hearts. His profound impact on us all serves as a reminder to live each day with an open heart, a love for nature, and a deep appreciation for family bonds.

Steve, We were sadden to learn of your passing, which is way too early. You were a great friend who we considered family. While our lives took different paths and we lost touch, we will always remember fondly our times together in New Hampshire. May you rest in eternal peace with your beloved son Davin Nicholas. With a heavy heart, Charlie and Mikki Falcone
