Obituary For Stephen P Aylward

Stephen P Aylward, 69, of Peabody, died Wednesday March 1, 2023, at the Life Care Center of North Shore in Lynn. He was the husband of Marian (Sempolinski) Aylward.

Born in Cherry Point, NC, he was the son of the late Thomas J and Phyllis T (Cunningham) Aylward. He was raised and educated in Melrose and has lived in Peabody for the past 43 years.

Stephen was a graduate of Salem State College and also attended Northeastern University. He taught math and shop in the Melrose School system for over 30 years before retiring years ago. He enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing and riding his motorcycle.

Besides his wife, Stephen is survived by his daughter Kimberly and her husband Edward and their children, Edward, Victoria and Nathaniel Nardone all of Danvers, his son Mark and his wife Brittany and their child Charlie of Millersville, MD, his siblings, Peter and his wife Sandra Aylward of Virginia, Joanne and her husband Russ Miller of Panama, Jeanne Aylward of Colorado, Michael Aylward, Paul Aylward, Christina and her husband Sean Tiernan of Colorado, Philip and his wife Giselle Aylward of Hyannis, by his many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and over 20 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Keohan, Barbara Nickerson and Patricia Ralston.

Following cremations, his Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 12:00 PM Noon at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. There will be no burial services.

Brother Steve, the whole gang was there with a beautiful and Spiritual send off that started with the Beatles song Blackbird. You were surrounded by Love in the room by your brothers and your sisters were on Zoom. Father Rich quoted Footsteps in the Sand and we know you're now with the Greatest Fisherman of all. Brothers Pete, Paul, and Phil told stories revealing your good heart. And Jimmy Dooner was there too humbled by your passing and lifetime friendship. Cousins showed up from all over, and the Matriarch Aunt Jeanne Gordy exemplified the grace and dignity of years of Love that surrounded you from your birthplace in Cherry Point, North Carolina. Your children Kim and Mark supported Marian with the joy from the grand kids! And all the Keohans were there in unison showing their support and love knowing the heartache of Mary's passing. Barbara's husband Jay sent flowers and prayers knowing the heartache of Barb's passing. And I had honor of being humbled in your last few days, and your words to me: "Thank you for helping me again."
