Obituary For Steven A Mercer

Steven A Mercer, 58, of Amesbury and formerly of Peabody, died peacefully Wednesday morning.

Born in Lynn, he was the son of the late Lester and Gail (Pearse) Mercer. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody Veterans Memorial High School, class of 1981. He continued his education and received his associates degree from Franklin Institute in Boston.

In his younger years Steven enjoyed playing hockey and later organized many charity events involving the Boston Bruins Alumni. He enjoyed riding his Harley and going to the Lakes Region in New Hampshire. He also enjoyed boating and was a member of the State Line Field and Stream Gun Clubs as well.

Steven is survived by his sister, Jill Price and her husband Daniel Price of Peabody, his two nephews, Christopher Price of Boston, and Thomas Price of Peabody and by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM followed by his Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St, Peabody.

    Such sad news. I lived across the street from the Mercers, on Elizabeth lane , my whole life . Lester and my dad would tinker in the gaarage or come for cold drinks w Gail . Steven was just year older than I was but he wa always so kind to me. I'll always remember his smile . So sorry for your family JJill. ... you were a great big sister and I never saw you without Steven . He will be missed .

    So very sorry you have lost Steven at such a young age. I grew up next door to Mercers in Peabody and have such good memories of Steven as one of the busy kids in the neighborhood. Susan Foster (one of the Elizabeth Lane kids)

    I am so sorry to read this today. I was Steve's next door neighbor at the lake for many years. I know he enjoyed talking with my husband and myself ....and we both enjoyed the outdoors and boating etc..... This is a great photo of him. My condolences to your family..... Raelene Sullivan and Frank Sullivan(deceased, 5 years ago). 50 lake Attitash Rd.
