Obituary For Steven Marco Apostolides

Steven Marco Apostolides, 77, passed away on June 16, 2022. He was born in Peabody, MA, the son of the late John Marco and Kanella (Vounessea) Apostolides. He graduated from Peabody High School and attended Northeast Area Tech and Northeastern University, respectively.

Steve enjoyed a successful career as CEO/President of multiple companies and concluded his professional career in the Financial Services industry. He was an active member of the Order of Masonry and the Shriners. Most recently, he was awarded his fifty-year pin with the Masons.

Steve was an avid golfer, and enjoyed scuba diving, skiing, and flying sailplanes. He also obtained his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying his private plane for many years. Above all, his passion was his family, and he was happiest when attending all family activities. He was known for his humor and extreme sense of sarcasm that had the ability to diffuse stressful situations.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years MaryAnn (Mavrakos), his son Marc and wife April of Naugatuck, CT, and daughters Christa Krideras and husband Tom of Manchester, N.H., and Stephanie Papakonstantis and husband Niko of Exeter, N.H., his grandsons Thaao Papakonstantis and Lucas Apostolides, his granddaughters Alexa Papakonstantis and Mia Apostolides, his step-granddaughter Victoria Krideras, his brother John Apostolides and his wife Helen of Peabody, MA. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Carol Mavrakos of Salem, MA and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Funeral service will be held on Tuesday June 21 at the St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church 5 Paleologos St. Peabody, MA with a visitation from 09:00 until 11:00 AM with Services at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Brookhaven Hospice, 22 Roulston St., Suite 1-B, Windham, NH 03097 or Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 40 Buttrick Road, Suite B, Londonderry, NH 03053 in his memory.     Cousin Steve was a man who lit up the room just by entering it. He was truly a larger than life character with a booming voice, a great sense of humor and hearty laugh. To say he was easy to like is an understatement. He will be sorely missed.
