Obituary For Steven Sierra

Steven Sierra, 60, of Salem, formerly of West Peabody and Lynn, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. He was the former husband and best friend of Tammy (Hall) Sierra of Clinton, MA.

He was born in Boston on June 17, 1963 and was the cherished son of the late Eloy and Eleanor (Sweeney) Sierra.

Steven grew up enjoying summers with family at Alton Bay, NH. He was an avid music fan and even did some singing with his brother Bryan’s old band Joplin Heart in Salisbury Beach. One of his favorite artist was Elvis Presley, which you could always count on him to belt out random Elvis tunes. Steven graduated from Peabody High School and started working with his four brothers before they all worked for their Father. Steven then spent the rest of his career tinkering with various electronics and medical equipment. Steven always preferred his bigger trucks and SUVs to get around the New England roads. Steven enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandchild, and family during holidays and other main events. You could always find Steven behind a camera capturing precious moments of his family and nature. He always spent his extra time giving back and volunteering at the Salvation Army, due to the care and support they have provided to him during his 20+ years of sobriety.

In addition to his former wife, Steven is survived by his children, Jonathan Sierra of Port Charlotte, FL and Maegan Sierra of Clinton, MA; his siblings, Brian Sierra and his wife Anna of Raymond, NH and Deborah Sierra-Erwin and her husband Dennis Erwin of Peabody; his grandson, Devin Charest of Clinton, MA; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other siblings.

Sadly, in addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers James and Kevin Sierra.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at 11AM in St. Joseph Cemetery, 990 Lagrange Street West Roxbury, MA. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4PM to 7PM. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Salvation Army by visiting www.salvationarmyusa.org

Brian ,Steve and I connect after not seeing each other for almost 40years, working with him on Peabody the past year of so. I couldn't have hoped for someone to come back into my life as Steve did . He shared his life that he spent during those 40 years we didn't see each other, I could tell you all the stories he and I shared , but then again he lived a life people see on the movies , you know them all . He loved you very much Brian we talked about you alot at work , and he always would say how .much he loved and missed his family your brotherd that past , mom and dad . His life was worthy of a great movie . He often spoke of his wife and best friend ( he always said she was his best friend).. any way when he went to the hospital awhile back , I brought him cannolis he thought that was great , I was worried about him and it was then I realized how much I loved this guy , He would always ask about my mom as she was getting close to passing on , his heart was huge . All I wanted to say to his family and friends is Steve loved his family so very much and never was shy about telling everyone about all of you , Brian I hope you are well , your brothers are all looking down at you now , love your family they need you , your brother Steve loved you so much , take care my old friend , I cannot be at the services as I have moved down south , please tell Steve I loved him , Cris Anastopoulos
