Obituary For Susan M. Rae

Susan M. Rae, 62, of Peabody, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Sunday, November 28, 2021.
Born in Cambridge, she was the daughter of the late Dana and Margaret (Randall) Rae.

Susan was a lifelong resident of Peabody. She received her education from the Peabody school system and graduated from Peabody High School, class of 1977. Following High School, she continued her education at Suffolk University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Law, class of 1981.

Susan worked for many years in the food manufacturing industry and was a longtime employee of US Foods and Necco.

Susan was an accomplished athlete. She enjoyed basketball and softball. Susan began her basketball career in high school where she played for the Peabody Tanners which earned her a scholarship to Suffolk University. She continued playing throughout college. Susan went on to coach for the girls Peabody Basketball Association for 10 years. She was also an avid Red Sox fan.

Susan was a loving daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
She had a special relationship and was a mentor to her two nieces, Cindy, and Sandy.
Susan was predeceased by her husband, Richard Baker. She is survived by her son, Michael Baker of Peabody; her sister, Cheri Whitcomb; her nephew Corey Whitcomb; her two nieces, Cindy Rae Cassola-Olimpio, and Sandra Cassola-Plourde; and her dear friend, Debbi Waldman Pearson. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her sister, Alice Cassola.

Arrangements: A visitation will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody MA 01960, on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 4 to 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
