I may be the last to find out about dear Fr. Vincent passing to Heaven. In 1954, my father was a high profile radio and television personality in Washington DC. My father was Catholic and met Fr. Vincent's sister, Sr. Dolores, the circumstances I do not know. Sr. Dolores told my father about her brother, Vincent, who was a young priest in need of money to buy things needed for his ministry. My father was not a man of wealth in those days and sill, he put a 100 bill in an envelop and mailed it to Fr. Vincent. Fr. Vincent sent my father several hand written letters that my mother found decades after my father passed away. She asked me if I could find Fr. Vincent which I did, shortly before my mother passed away in 2009. While my mother never got to meet or speak with Fr. Vin (he told me I should call him Fr. Vin), I was able to contact him through his FB page right after mother died. I asked him if he would do me the honor of burying my mother and that I would fly him to Virginia and he said yes! It was such an honor to meet Fr. Vincent and have him stay with us at our home for those few wonderful days. Fr blessed our home and after our beautiful visit he returned back to Peabody. We stayed in touch over the years until one day, Fr. Vincent was no longer posting on his FB page. I reached out to one of his nephews on his FB friends list, asking if he had passed but never heard back. So I left the question in the hands of the Lord. Today, 12-12-2023, I found this obituary and now have closure on this wonderful chapter in our lives. It was an honor and blessing it was to have met Fr. Vincent and gotten to know him. I still have the letters he wrote to my father, thanking him for the donation. May God richly bless Fr. Vin's dear niece, Mariam and her family who Fr. Vin told me more than once, he was thankful to be living with them and how much he loved his family, allowing him to live his life in happiness and peace. This world has turned into a crazy place and it is comforting to know that Fr. Vin, my parents and all our elder loved ones who went before us by natural death are safe with Jesus in Heaven, watching over us.
