Obituary For Thomas J. Abbott, Sr.

Thomas J. Abbott, Sr, 91, of Danvers, MA passed away peacefully Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Hathorne Hill in Danvers, MA. He is the beloved husband of Lena (Begin) Abbott. Thomas was born in Danvers, MA, March 21, 1931, the son of the late Henry and Florence (Lent) Abbott. He was raised in Beverly and Marblehead, MA and attended local schools. Thomas was employed as a leather worker with Leach & Heckl of Salem. He was later employed with West Lynn Creamery for several years until his retirement. Thomas was a member of the Beverly-Salem Elks Lodge #1309. He enjoyed camping, candlepin bowling, puzzles and time with family and friends. Thomas is survived by his wife, Lena Abbott, children, Thomas Abbott and wife Carol, Susan Nadeau and husband Paul and stepchildren, Steven Hebert and wife, Kim, Jerry Hebert and Cheryl Dione. He also leaves behind his brother, Frederick Abbott several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his son, Lt. Scott Hebert, brothers, Henry, Jr. and David and sisters, Lois and jean. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours, Wednesday, November 23,2022 from 10:00AM – 12:00PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. Peabody, MA 01960. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 12PM in the funeral home chapel. A burial will take place at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody, MA. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to The Hathorne Hill Activities Fund, 15 Kirkbride Dr. Danvers, MA 01923. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.ccbfuneral.com.
