Peabody – Victoria B. (Pietrowicz) Surman 97, beloved wife of the late Edward P. Surman, died Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the Twin Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Danvers surrounded by her family.

Born and raised in Ipswich, she was the daughter of the late Gerry and Anne (Cibuzska) Pietrowicz.

A resident of Peabody for over sixty years, she dedicated her life to raising her family. Prior the that, as a young woman, she had worked for GTE Sylvania and the former Jordan Marsh department store.

Mrs. Surman was an active member of the former St. Joseph’s Church in Peabody where she was involved in many of the church groups and the polish community. She enjoyed Polka music and dancing as well as polish cooking. She had great admiration for the North Shore including visits to Cape Ann, Essex, Crane’s Beach and rides to New Hampshire. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

Surviving her are two sons, Edward L. Surman and his wife, Cheryl and John J. Surman all of Peabody, two grandchildren, Kristen Surman and Edward J. Surman, a sister, Florence Rickard of Jacksonville, FL and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her siblings.

ARRANGEMENTS: A visiting hour will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Monday, March 27, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a service in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial in the Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers.
