Virgilyne (Burnham) Britt, 84, of Peabody and formerly of Lynn, died on Thursday surrounded by her family at Salem Hospital following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Kenneth Britt with whom she shared over 64 years of marriage.

Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Helen (Hudson) Burnham, she was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, class of 1955. She has lived in Peabody for the past 56 years.

Virgilyne was a lover of animals and loved doing arts and crafts as well.

Besides her beloved husband, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Linda Britt and her daughter Kendal Keough. She was predeceased by her sister, Jacquelyn Burnham and her son-in-law, Gary Keough.

At the request of the family, funeral services will be held privately. Expressions of sympathy can be made in her name to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970.
