Obituary For Wilhelmina M Heath

Wilhelmina “Willy” M. (Ogasian) Heath, 87, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2023, in Lynn, MA.

Wilhelmina was born in Lynn in 1935 to John and Mae (Goad) Gilchrist. She graduated from Lynn English High School in 1952 and then Burdett Secretarial School in 1953. Although Willy held several exciting jobs over the years while raising her family, her most treasured job was her over 20-year career at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston, where she stayed until retiring in 1997.

Wilhelmina devoted her life to her family as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family, and she found great happiness sharing her passions for baking and gardening with her children and grandchildren.

For several years, Wilhelmina also showed her devotion to her hometown by joining the Lynn Assembly of the Order of Eastern Star. While an active member, she was responsible for numerous community visits and fundraisers. Wilhelmina was known to friends and family alike for her sparkling spirit, great sense of humor, and care for others.

Wilhelmina is survived by her two children, Johanna (Ogasian) and her husband Robert Morse, John Ogasian and his wife Diane (O’Grady); and three grandchildren, Sam Morse; Sarah (Morse) and her husband Ben Green; and Jennifer Ogasian. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Mae (Goad) Gilchrist; and her husband’s John Ogasian (father of her children) and Olin Heath.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody. A visitation be held on Thursday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to Care Dimensions, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923, or the charity of your choice.

Mom always had the kindest heart who always put her family first. Her loving and caring of her children (and grandchildren) were truly an inspiration to us all. She also taught us to be humble and see the good in all people. My best memory will always be your tremendous sense of humor, laugh, and smile. You could always light up a room for any occasion which always made us all feel special. I miss you incredibly, but know that you will always be in all of our hearts forever. I love you mom! Johnny

Nana was always the life of the party! I remember going to her house during the summer and we'd throw entire dance parties in the living room—all the classics like Twist and Shout, Elvis, and the Hokey Pokey, of course 🙂

Happy Birthday in heaven my dearest Nanna Willy! Thank you for always making me feel beautiful and a major part of you and Papa's family. Thank you for all the care guidance you gave Jennifer Rose . You are big reason Jennifer is so confident and smart!❤️

I will always miss her smile and sense of humor. She was a warm wonderful soul. Also admired her patience when putting up with mine and John's shenanigans in our younger days. 😊❤
