William Cleary, 85, of Lynnfield, died Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers.

Born in Medford, MA, he was the son of the late Edward and Edna (Dickey) Cleary. He graduated from Tufts University and then continued his education at Leslie College where he received his Masters of Education.

William began his teaching career in Peabody at the Seeglitz Junior High School and later taught at the Higgins Middle School. His last teaching assignment was at Peabody High School where he was an Industrial Arts instructor. He enjoyed the model train hobby and was a member of the Train Collectors Association.

William is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norma J. (Lawrence) Cleary and his son Stephen M. Cleary, both of Lynnfield. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

At the request of the family, services will be private.
