William D. Emmett, 82, of Groveland, MA died on December 23, 2021, at the Country Center Nursing and Rehab Center in Newburyport, after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Judith E. (Grusheski) Emmett who died in 2020. Bill was born in Peabody, MA on October 15, 1939, the son of the late William F. and Mary (Foley) Emmett and had resided there before moving to Groveland 50 years ago. He was a twenty-year veteran of the US Coast Guard serving during the Vietnam War from 1958 until his discharge in May of 1978. Bill then was employed with the Analytical Systems Engineering in Burlington, MA as an electronic Engineer in the security installation division for 20 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed working around his home and helping others learning about their computers. , but his most cherished time was being and caring for his family. He is survived by his two sons, Randall and his wife Linda of East Kingston, NH, and Steven Emmett of Groveland, a daughter and son-in-law, Sharon -Ann Teague and her husband James of Peabody, his eight precious grandchildren, Danielle and Jessica Emmett, Kana, Michaelina, James, Ambrose, Addi and Jean Frances Teague ; a brother and sister-in-law, David J. and Elaine Emmett of Rustin, FL and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert J. Emmett and Richard Coombs, A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, January 6,2022 at St Adelaide’s Church , Peabody. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Groveland.
