Obituary For Zafiria (Kapeleris) Scangas

Lynn - Zafiria Scangas, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 4th. She was the wife of the late George Scangas, with whom she shared 64 years of marriage prior to his passing in May 2020. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Lynn but often visited St. Vasilios Orthodox Church in Peabody where her sons are members. Zafiria’s pride and joy was her family and she spent lots of time cooking, hosting and cherishing their company. She also enjoyed gardening and visiting her beloved village home in Greece. Zafiria always talked of how happy and proud she was of her entire family, especially her 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She greeted everyone with a smile and was loved by whomever she met.
