Jessica Ann Kaminski (McEttrick) passed away peacefully on September 12th, 2019 surrounded by the love of her family. Wife of Kevin Kaminski and mother of James and Nathan, Jessica was born on October 10, 1979 to James and Barbara McEttrick.
Growing up in Braintree, Massachusetts where her parents still reside, Jessica was a graduate of the Braintree school system and the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Animal Science: Bioscience and Technology. Following her education, Jessica worked in the biotech industry at Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Pierce Biotechnology, Covance and Biolegend.
A resident of Middleton, Massachusetts, Jessica married Kevin Kaminski in 2008. In 2012, Kevin and Jessica welcomed their first son James, followed by Nathan in 2014. Jessica was a devoted mother and found immense joy in her time with them, leaving a profound impact on their lives that will ensure they grow up to be kind and gentle men as was her wish.
Jessica also took great joy in the friendships that she forged from a young age with her siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, and to those met later in life including co-workers, friends and neighbors. Even those that only knew her for a short time were profoundly influenced by her positive attitude and zest for life.
Jessica loved to spend time with her family, especially at her favorite beach in Marshfield (“Nana Betty’s”) and the fresh waters of Lake Winnipesaukee. She loved to travel with her family and friends and enjoyed taking her children to theme parks and on beach vacations. Jessica was a lover of dogs, especially those she rescued from shelters over the years, and will be missed by her loyal canine, Logan. She generously supported charities including participating as a Big Sister, raising money for Angel Flights, and working with various other community programs to support those in need. Jessica always found happiness in the giving of herself to help others.
In 2016, Jessica was diagnosed with stage IV cancer which she fought with great courage and determination, but never for herself as she battled to maximize time with her family and friends. Even in sickness, Jessica maintained an attitude so positive that she helped support others in their battles. Jessica was never defined by her illness or her battle with cancer.
Jessica is survived by her husband Kevin Kaminski, two sons James and Nathan, her parents Jim and Barbara McEttrick , her Sister Meghan McManus and her husband Phil, her sister Alyson Hawkins and her husband DJ, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends too numerous to count.
Family, friends and others whose lives Jessica touched are invited to the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody, MA from 4pm-8pm on Tuesday September 17, 2019.
