Obituary of Lucille I. Lane

Lucille I. Lane, 87, of Peabody, passed Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at home peacefully. She was the devoted wife of the late Edward (Red) J. Lane with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. Born in Girardville, PA, April 15, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Carl R. and Anna M. (Magalenga) Eiler of Schuylkill Haven, PA and a graduate of Girardville High School, Class of 1951. Following her high school graduation, she enlisted in the US Navy where she met her future husband and were married on July 23, 1955 in Newport, Rhode Island. Lucille was a long time employee / supervisor at GTE Sylvania on Loring Avenue in Salem. She leaves behind 5 children, Edward J. Lane and his wife Karan of West Newbury, MA; Catherine Archis and her husband Larry of Bel Air, MD; Mary Lane of Peabody, MA; John J Lane of Seabrook, NH; Judy Lane of Peabody, MA; her grandchildren, Emily Lane, Victoria Lane, Brian Archis, Matthew Archis, Nicholas Archis, Andrew Lane, Aimee Lane and Adam Lane; her great granddaughter Emma Archis; her sister Joan Zuber; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her sister’s Catherine Donoghue; Elizabeth Szuler; Gloria Zimmerman; Mary Cavallucci and two sister in laws; Joan Kapnis and Margaret Roberts, daughter in law; Janice Hawkins Lane and one granddaughter Marion Lane. A special thank you to the loving, caring, comfort and support given by the Hospice Nurses at All Care VNA & Hospice. A Christian Mass for will be offered on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Adelaide Parish followed by a private burial at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honor of Lucille I. Lane to All Care VNA and Hospice, 210 Market Street, Lynn, MA 01902.
