Obituary For Albert Ralph Giello

Albert Ralph Giello, 83, of Peabody, formerly of Lynn, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of June F. (Bavin) Giello with whom he spent 58 years of marriage.

He was born in Lynn on May 31, 1940 and was the cherished son of the late Alberto Gigliello and Margaret (Serino) Giello.

Al graduated from Lynn Tech and then went on to work for General Electric for 38 years. He married his beloved sweetheart June in the summer of 1965 and the couple was blessed with two sons who were his world. He loved the music of Frank Sinatra and days golfing at Gannon Golf Course in Lynn. The other three true loves of Al’s life were his grandchildren who he adored and who adored him equally as much. Al dedicated his life to caring and providing for his family, and spending time with cherished, lifelong friends. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know his kind spirit and gentle heart.

In addition to his wife, Al is survived by his two sons, Michael Giello and his wife Katie of Beverly and Albert Giello of Peabody; his 3 grandchildren, Olivia, Michael Jr. and Avery Giello all of Beverly; his sister, Dolores Torelli and her husband Louie of Peabody; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sadly, in addition to his parents, Al is predeceased by his sister, Judith Ralston.

Visiting hours will be at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St. Peabody on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 4PM to 7PM. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday morning at 11AM in the funeral home followed by his interment at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Al’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by visiting www.stjude.org.

June and Family: Joe and I just heard today of Al's passing. We are sooooo very sorry for your loss. Al was the only one of my brothers' friends I called "Uncle Al." He was always very good to me when I was little and I have fond memories of him and our life growing up in the Brickyard. He used to spend time at Bacci's with Albert and my father who would cook for them. It was a special time for all. Please know we are praying for Al and all of you at this difficult time. With much Love, Dotty Basile and Joe Giguere

My sincerest condolences to June, Mike, Albert, Katie and the grandchildren. Thinking of my cousin Al, I'll always cherish memories of growing up together in the 1950's and 60's in the Brickyard ! Growing up West Lynn surrounded by all my Serino cousins, aunts and uncles was a blessing. Al was my handsome older cousin and very close with brother Bob and my other male cousins. I always looked up to Al. My cousins Dolores, Dianne and Judy were the sisters I never had. Living in the same 3 decker house with the Giello's and having most all my aunts and uncles together on Shephard Street was pretty wonderful, We were surrounded by extended loving family and were rich in our family traditions and values. Every holiday was spent together and our mothers did all the cooking and preparations. Dinner for 35 was the norm. We lacked material "things" but were so rich in family values and friendships. St. Francis Church was a big part of our lives and our faith. Al devoted his life to his wife and family and was so proud of all of them. I pray your sadness today is replaced by loving memories of your husband, father and Papa. May he rest in God's heavenly peace ✝️ Love, Barbara (Beebe) Fortunato

Al was a friend of mine growing up in the "Brickyards". We both attended Lynn Trade High school and worked @ GE in Lynn for over 38 years. He was a leader of the pact. He always knew what, who & where, whenever there was a question about our neighborhood, Al would know the answer. I will always remember playing Morra on Saturday mornings at Army's 50 club, jumping off of Lampers wharf & stealing cherries off of old Mr. Browns tree. Alley street will remain with those of us that knew it. I will miss him dearly. B.R
