Obituary For Albertino S. Silva
Albertino S. Silva, 89, of Peabody, formerly of Graciosa, Azores, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Salem Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Teresinha L. (Espinola) Silva with whom he shared 66 years of marriage.
He was born in Graciosa, Azores on November 20, 1934 and was the cherished son of the late Joao Espinola Silva and Juvina (Mendonca) Silva.
Upon arrival in this country in 1973 he started in the leather industry working for Salem Suede until his retirement 24 years ago. Albertino lived a happy life. He and his wife traveled yearly to the Azores. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle.
In addition to his wife, Teresinha, Albertino is survived by his daughter, Nisalda Silva and her husband Jose of Peabody; his son, Jose Silva and his wife Patricia of Danvers; his grandchildren, Brian Silva and his wife Kelli of Westborough, James Silva and his wife Alison of Bedford, Jonathan and Amanda Silva of Danvers; his great-grandchildren, Lucas and Victoria Silva of Westborough and Natalie and Owen Silva of Bedford; his brothers, Florentino Silva and his wife Germina of the Azores and Brivaldo Silva and his wife Ildete of Toronto, Canada; his brother-in-law, Antonio Espinola of Etobicoke, Canada; his sister-in-law, Conceicao Bettencourt and her husband Balbino of Peabody; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Sadly, in addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Livermento Espinola.
His funeral will be held from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 8AM before leaving in procession to Our Lady of Fatima Church in Peabody for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9AM. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 4PM to 7PM. Interment will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Salem.

We are so sorry for your loss. What an inspiring and efficient man.. So grateful for the simple memories in Graciosa and in Peabody. It was always great to see him across the street. I'll miss him and his wife at the mall walking in the morning. He was a great man. I enjoyed talking to him always a pleasure. I remember him working for my dad in Graciosa with his tractor. You will be missed rest in peace, my friend🙏🎈🙏
