Obituary For Alfred L. Sordillo
Peabody – Alfred L. Sordillo, age 90, beloved husband of Brigitte (Heinkel) Sordillo, died Easter Sunday at sunrise, April 9, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Brighton, he was the son of the late Angelo and Margaret (DeAngelis) Sordillo. He was raised in Revere and graduated from Revere High School.
An honorably discharged veteran, he proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict as a member of the United States Army.
Mr. Sordillo had been employed for thirty-five years as a printing supervisor at W.E. Andrews Company, Inc in Bedford until the time of his retirement in 1993.
A resident of Peabody since 1987, Mr. Sordillo was an avid trumpet player who enjoyed playing for his wife and family. He took pride in his home and loved working in his yard. For 27 years, he enjoyed vacationing at his winter home in Florida with his beautiful wife. Later in life, Al loved to sit in his garage, smoke a cigar and talk to the neighbors who would go by. What was of the utmost importance to him was the love of family and friends. He was a man of integrity, honesty, and fairness. He loved his country and was truly proud to be an American. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, with whom he shared over sixty-eight years of marriage, he is survived by his daughter, Gina Jones and her husband, Rick of Peabody, his son, Alfred Sordillo Jr. of Peabody, five grandchildren, Rich Jones and his wife, Amanda, Christian Jones, Evan Jones, Freddie J. Sordillo and Mikaela Sordillo, a great granddaughter, Hazel Jones and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Florine Magno, Marie Abbene, and Frances Matthews.
ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral service will be held at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Monday, April 17, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
