Obituary For Angelina "Angela" Pangakis

Peabody – Angelina “Angela” (Mirageas) Pangakis 89, wife of the late Nicholas Pangakis, died on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at the Beverly Hospital surrounded by her family.

Born and raised in Boston, she was the daughter of the late John K. and Katina (Kokinopoulos) Mirageas. She graduated from Boston Girl’s High School, class of 1949 and attended Northeastern University.

Mrs. Pangakis had been employed as a personnel administrator for the John Hancock Life Insurance Company in Boston. A resident of Peabody since 1987 and prior to that in Needham, Mrs. Pangakis was very active in the Family Council at the Soldier’s Home in Chelsea and also with the North Shore Parkinson’s Support Group in Beverly.

She is survived by her niece, Stephanie Moisakis and her husband, Nicholas of Westford, nephew, John C. Mirageas of Quincy, great nephews, Peter and Charles Moisakis and many nieces, nephews, great-niece & great-nephews on the Mirageas and Pangakis sides of the family and cousins as well as many dear friends. She was also the sister of the late Konstantinus J. Mirageas and his wife, Helen.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral service will be held at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, 5 Paleologos St., Peabody, Friday, May 27, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Soldier’s Home, Department of Recreation/Therapy, 91 Crest Ave., Chelsea, MA 02150 or the American Parkinson’s Disease Association, P.O. Box 61420, Staten Island, NY 10306.

    I will always remember my good friend from the days at John Hancock. She was the only one with whom I kept in contact and even when our communication became just a newsy Christmas card it meant so much to me.
